John Scott Young Died Monday
John Scott Young, age 87, well know retired Wetzel County Farmer, died at the family home two miles from Littleton at two o'clock, Monday afternoon.
Mr. Young had been in failing health for the past two year, and had been very ill for the past week. He was a native of Washington County, Pa., where he was born on May 1, 1854, a son of the late William and June Dunning Young. He was the last surviving member of a family of eight children. Mr. Young was married to Mary Ott on September 13, 1885. Immediately following their marriage they came to Wetzel County where they settled on the farm on which his death occurred. The couple celebratede their 55 th wedding aniversary in 1940. The deceased was a farmer and a fruit grower throughout his entire life, retiring from active work only two years ago, when he first became ill. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs A. C. Thomas at home, and Mrs. Nora Johnson of Deep Valley, Pa.; two sons, Dennis R. of Paintsville, KY and John H. of Littleton. Eight grandchildren and two great- grandchildren also survive. Furneral services will be held Thursday afternoon, with internment at Sand Hill. Final arrangements were incomplete Tuesday
