Caswell is mentioned in a Bill of Sale in 1859, Whitley Co., KY. In 1860 and 1870 he appears in Scott Co., TN with his wife Mary and family. He has not been located in the 1850 or 1880 census.

Notes

There is a discrepancy regarding Celeter's date of birth. Thornton papers show either Mar 13 1792 or Jan 8 1794. I don't know where these dates came from, but the 1800 census shows her as under 10 (1790-1800) and the 1810 as 16-26 (1784-1794). Therefore, I excluded the out-of-range years and estimate the above 1790/94 until further documentation is uncovered.

Notes

Charles was tithed with his father in 1774. I assume that means he was a minor, therefore he would have been born after 1756? A Charles Creekmore took the oath of constable 2/16/1786. [Norfolk Co., VA, Order Book 1786-1787, p. 6] A Charles Creekmore died leaving a will, dated 5/15/1816, proved 3/13/1819, naming sons Peter, Jesse and Ehraim Creekmore. [Norfolk Co., VA, Will Book 5, p. 38]
